Isn’t that dollhouse falling down?
August 3rd, 2012When it comes to dollhouses, there are some weird and wonderful creations to be discovered on the internet and the dollhouse Orlando Dumond Soria is currently constructing manages to be both weird and strangely beautiful.
The first thing that strikes you when you see Orlando’s dollhouse is that it leans – deliberately!
As Orlando himself says on his ‘Homemaker’ blog:
“The wall is meant to look like it’s falling, so I made it angled. The angle makes it look a little unstable, but the whole house is supposed to look decrepit from the outside…”
Orlando’s original inspiration was a dilapidated barn and as he explains:
“I want it to look as gross from the outside as possible so that its inner beauty is what really shines through. I want the whole project to be a thinly-veiled metaphor for how I am more beautiful inside than outside. Oh yeah, and so are you.”
So there really is a method to Orlando’s madness and if the end result matches up to the original idea, it promises to be a truly amazing dollhouse.
Do you have any ideas to where I can display all my dollhouses I have over 20 houses in which people tell me they need to be in display foe viewing any suggestion would be helpful thanks
